CASE STUDIES 1

31 Southfield Avenue, Preston, Paignton – New Build

This is the construction of three new build apartments in Paignton, completed in 2012 as a development for onward sale by Cedar Tor Ltd.

The site was steeply sloping and had a history of subsidence. Working closely with the Architect and Structural Engineers, we were able to overcome the site constraints to create a highly desirable set of apartments. They were completed on schedule and to budget, working to a high standard of quality, and offered with a 10 year insurance backed warranty.

CASE STUDY 2

Landscove, Ashburton – Renovation and Extension

On this project we worked with the client in two phases of build.

In the first phase in 2012, we renovated the existing house. This involved demolishing the existing two storey extension, and stripping the house completely back to bare stonework, as well as removing the whole ground and 1st floors. After building a new extension on the side and rear of the house, the whole property was fitted out to a high specification with underfloor heating throughout. During the building works, we liaised with the Structural Engineer, so that the extension could be built over an existing 2.5m diameter fresh water well.

In the second phase of works in 2014, we built the sun room on the front of the house. This features sliding/folding doors, underfloor heating and a covered patio area, all with a zinc standing seam roof incorporating glazed panels.

Both phases of work were completed on time and to the agreed budget.

The project was a finalist in the LABC Building Excellence Awards 2014, and Cedar Tor Limited were also finalists at the same ceremony in the Best Local Builder category.
